Configuration of Attached Devices
This section can be used to store attached peripheral devices for use in the PRINT command and XPLOT WINPLOT plotting. Note that the commands GETDEVICEINFO, LISTDEVICE and SETUPDEVICE are useful in retrieval and configuration of the attached output devices. Plotting to specific user defined devices is now also rationalized in favour of plotting to HPGL, HPGL2 or raster files which are then output to Windows printer devices using the WINPLOT utility.

The settings of these variables are grouped because they are linked. On Eagle Windows supports Windows printing facility. This opens the possibility of using any printer of any format which has been installed on Windows with the appropriate device driver. The PRINT command can act like a plotting command using the primer CMD which specifies the type of rendering the user wants, like in the existing DUMP command, or as a hard-copy facility, printing the content of the graphic area as it is at that moment. This facility works either on b/w or color printers (note the quality of color, greyscale, graphic positioning and scaling output depends entirely on the device driver which is independent of Eagle.

PLOTTER |
|
Values |
a string |

Default |
PLOTHP |
|
Example |
PLOTTER=PLOTHP |
The variables DIGITISER, DIG_TIME_OUT, NUMONICPATCH and PRINTER for digitizer and postscript plotting are no longer used as standard but may be present in older applications configuration for compatibility purposes. They should be considered as OBSOLETE.
